When he’s not busy rendering images for clients, working on his websites and school projects, or competing in design contests, Matus Nedecky manages to find projects to do for fun, like the Sydney Master Plan he rendered for a friend.

 

Matus shared this project - including still images, an animation, and tips he figured out along the way - with Chaos Group USA.

ZDepth in V-Ray for SketchUp 

V-Ray for SketchUp supports several element channels for easy post-processing of an image’s composition. One of those channel elements is Z-Depth – a grayscale image representation of the image, useful in creating fog and a depth of field effect.

In this video tutorial Chaos Group USA Visual Artist & Trainer, Fernando Rentas, explains how to create a Z-Depth channel and how to use that channel in post-processing to add a depth of field effect to an image.
